The Tyrtaios Disabled Sports Association organised for its members on Saturday, September 17, a day trip to the fully accessible Kineta beach with the support of AkriMan.
The AKTI municipal beach in Karteros, Heraklion, acquired for the first time the remotely controlled SeaAccess® and is now ready to offer safe and easy autonomous access to the sea to all people with restricted mobility.
With the donation of the Tony Julius Fund which is managed by the King Baudouin Foundation United States (KBFUS), with the support of the Bodossaki Foundation, Kyparissi is getting its own SeaAccess®.
The beach of Parikia, Livadia, is now fully accessible to everyone with the installation of the innovative SeaAccess® mechanism for autonomous access to the sea and the rest of the infrastructure to include a changing room for the disabled and a wooden pathway for wheelchair users’ comfortable movement around the beach.
In this year campaign, Alexandra Stamatopoulou, Gold World champion and Bronze Paralympic swimming champion, tells us about her own experience with SeaAccess®, the Greek summer, the unparalleled enjoyment of the sea and the value of autonomous access for all people with mobility issues.
This summer season, started very dynamically for SeaAccess®, and keeps on till today, at the same pace. We are so happy and proud that Municipalities from all over the country trusted us again in this very important initiative for accessibility.
This year’s summer season for the remotely controlled SeaAccess® started from the emblematic beach of Matala of Phaistos Municipality. The first symbolic “dive” was made by our Paralympian Manolis Stefanoudakis in a special event.
In a special event of the Municipality of Delphi, all the necessary infrastructure for the disabled were delivered and installed on the beaches, Miami-Itea and Kalafati-Galaxidi.
